Artist Statement:
My work explores the strength and beauty of feminine connection; between women, in nature, and through shared emotional experience. Central to this exploration is the recurring image of the deer, particularly the doe, which serves as a symbol of the feminine spirit. Often seen as gentle or vulnerable, the doe also embodies resilience, protectiveness, and deep intuition. I see in her a reflection of the quiet power found in feminine relationships: graceful, nurturing, and fiercely connected. These animals move with awareness and rely on one another for safety and support, much like the emotional networks that exist between women. In my paintings, the deer becomes a metaphor for this strength in community and care. Using traditional oil painting techniques, I blend personal symbolism with classical methods to reclaim and reinterpret traditional narratives. My work invites reflection on how we see femininity; not as weakness, but as a source of enduring connection and power.
